Microneedling is a cosmetic technique that involves the use of ultrafine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. The body perceives these small punctures as wounds, which triggers its natural healing process and causes collagen production to soar. Microneedling essentially “tricks” the body into repairing itself. The renewed tissue is more taut and radiant, and over time, ongoing treatment sessions can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks, large pores and uneven pigmentation. Clinical studies have demonstrated that a course of microneedling treatments can significantly stimulate collagen production.
